Get to my new stacks, So I decided to build 2 new one cord platforms today. If it dries up so I can get my equipment running, without causing major ruts, I can buck, split and stack another 2 cords. Have about 2 cords of logs on the ground, waiting to be bucked split and stacked, in 3 locations on the property. Itching for some saw time. My splitter misses me!
6x8 tarps for now. Don't have any tin roofing. Got the tarps, just don't have them on yet. Backwoods Savage seems to recommend covering them in the Fall. Maybe I misunderstood his essay on firewood?
I do feel your pain. No more than I have had, it has been a problem for my plan. I really don't want to push hard this summer. Want to get it going while cool this year.
Decided to start stacking on the level ground. This stuff got hard to get to when the snow started. Good for sun & wind, but on a slope.
No. You have it right. Of course the exception is if you live in a really wet area where it rains 3 or 4 times every week. Not sure I'd like to live there.
Thanks BS. I did check and we normally get about 56" of rain. Not a whole lot more than you get, I would guess.
Thanks, it did handle the snow well two weeks ago. It is two years old now. Will get another one when this one craps out.
