I worked a number of days for the landowner cutting trees and firewood for him and all I wanted was access to the property as I knew last year this was going to happen. I have an arrangement with the loggers but trust me when I say the cost was "very reasonable". I hooked/unhooked chokers to free them up some too.
Can't help myself getting another load tomorrow. Only going to get a 30 yard container, driver made some comment about this here thing called being "overweight
Leaving in a couple minutes to meet the boys armed with fresh baked banana bread. Boy it's cold out, -4 and real windy.
Got it here, looking for more pallets as I had a bunch of spares, but not enough. Anybody got a chainsaw I can borrow?
I don't even want to walk outside for even a short distance in this extreme cold. Congrats on getting it over to your place, you should be busy cutting and splitting for quite a while.
Making progress. The 2nd load is all cut up, and stacked on pallets and the 1st load is 85% done too. Will get some pics once the splitting gets underway. I want all the cutting done before melting starts and it gets muddy next week. I picked up two and a half 17 cubic foot garden trailers worth of saw dust so far I will get out the mower with a fan assisted bagger to suck up the rest before the grass starts growing.
Well it's starting to melt, got everything cut up and on pallets. Time to start splitting and clean up sawdust and debris. Pretty amazing how the snow/ice doesn't melt under the sawdust.
That's serious! Terrific job! My Grandfather talked about storing ice blocks under sawdust. Makes sense. There's a picture around of Fenway Park where they put down a couple of tons of black sand to help the snow to melt without killing the grass.
