Blue secondaries?

    Anybody ever have this. Stove is rolling along with nothing but pure blue secondaries. No yellow just pure blue. The pic doesn't even come close to capturing it. image.jpg It was absolutely beautiful!

    i get it with locust alot...and when wood gets close to coalin stage..

    get it a bunch with Ash in the Ideal Steel. Get it around the coals as well.

    Yes i get that alot, late into a burn where it's mainly coaled up. And yes it's awesome to watch too!

    x2 on this with my mix of ash and elm at probably 5-6 hours into the burn in the Myriad with the primary air 100% shut. I'll get hovering blue flames off the log shaped coals and then some of the blue gas burner effect if I'm lucky.

    Yes, but like you I can never get a picture that does the show justice.

    Well Chief, as you can see, many of us get the pretty blue flames. You might try some birch sometimes as many times you can get more blue with it.

    That picture no doubt does not do it justice but it is still great that you were able to capture some of it. Thank you.

    Some say Blue Flames are a sign of complete combustion. Congrats!!! Many a builder strives for that.

    Not much Birch around here so can't try it. I get some White Birch occasionally but that's it. To far south for Birch.
