Cruising CL the other day and came across this for $30!! Seller had bought it as a fix up, and was told it "needed a carb"...I asked if it actually needed a carb or a carb rebuild and he said he never asked the shop, he just didn't want to mess with it. I have since tore it all down (I have been wanting to be able to do more repairs for myself, but was nervous about messing up my other saws) and it will need at least a kit, but was wondering if there was someplace I can get a replacement carb, and it needs fuel lines, primer bulb, and bar oil line. The existing carb is a Zama, and the saw is model #600035-58 if that helps. DSCF1098.JPG DSCF1097.JPG

Pull and break down the carb and inspect for major corrosion. Carb should have a model $ stamped on the housing - search for a kit for that model number. Definitely replace the plumbing while you are at it. Have you checked the top end for damage, compression, etc. to make sure it's worth putting money into other repairs. Look for junk weateaters, blowers, etc. at your dump if you want to learn repair - great way to break down and tinker to learn the basics and you can usually find them for free this way. I wouldn't put a lot of $ into that saw. If it's a carb kit and fuel/primer lines, and you can have a runner for $50, go for it. Cheers!

I've never owned one of these saws, but noticed the bar oil tank is in the back. There is not a doubt in my mind if I did own it I would accidentally put gas in the oil tank.

Dang - cheap prices! They have the splined carb tool for about $7 with free shipping (I think) - that's real cheap! If anyone has splined adjustment screws and doesn't have this tool, I'd pop over and get one! Cheers!

Not as good of a deal as this; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DQADGUM/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Get all 4 special tools for $20. I've been watching these and this is the best price yet, I just ordered them up.

Thanks everyone for the info...I really appreciate it. Have not checked compression, but looked inside and the cylinder wall looks good, and the spark plug looked fine. I don't mind spending a few dollars to try to get it to run, but I'm not going to overspend. I will let you know how it goes.
