I saw in some other threads about all the wrong forecasts of this last storm. We were not alone as the most we were forecast was 2-4" I believe if we measured it would be between 1/8 and 3/16" at most.

In addition, some said the winds would howl today. I'm happy to report that is not happening just yet. I remember our forecast that was posted a few days ago was for a high of 16 today with falling temperatures. Not so. Our overnight low was 17 and at 1:15 it hit 20. Presently it is 19. Some wind but not a lot.

So, if some want to cut wood today, enjoy it! As for us, we'll wait for even better conditions simply because the wood we want to cut is down so naturally it is all snow covered. It does not bother us to wait. Nope. Doesn't bother us a bit.

I should be out unloading the truck from yesterday, but it's still -7 outside... I guess I'll just whine about it for a bit more and then get out there and do it. :picard:

Yes, and that weather is coming our way now. Wife just came in and said the wind is really getting cold now.

Yep, seems like our little warm up is going bye-bye for a few days.....again.
Forecast changes so much though. I doubt it'll get changed to 70 any time soon.:)

x2 I looked at this all day yesterday and said nope. 3 nice chestnut oak logs and one beech log I pulled up the steep beside the cabin, just before all this weather hit. Don't mind waiting.

Yeah I like to wait until the snow is off the ground before cutting. Living in Virginia that'll happen sooner rather than later.

I believe you are right on that one although I see now they don't seem to think it will get that high. But things should be changing for the better by next week.
