I bucked, split, & stacked some massive Red Oak for two full months after Hurricane Irene in 2011. It was for a friend/customer and I stacked it in a giant cube out back and it has been covered for almost three years. They only use it for a fireplace and asked me in December if I wanted to move two cords up to the house and I could take two cords. This cube is about 25' x 20' and six feet high. I uncovered it today to start moving loads and had to take some pictures. It is 80% Red Oak with some Beech & Hickory mixed in. Every piece I re-split and checked with the moisture meter came up at 16% mc. I am burning some now and you can guess the result...Incredible.
Nice looking 'cube' you got there jrcurto . Looks Like it took alot of cinder blocks to keep all that off the ground.
Sweet meat !!!! I got 2 cord of beech that's been cut 6 years and in the shed for 4 that I will be diving into soon. Gonna be nuclear !
Whoa. That's a lot of wood! Nice job! 2 for them and 2 for you...what is going to happen to the other 19 cords? You can drop it off in my yard if you want.
You know how much I like the big cubes......that's a dandy! Looks to be in good use able condition now!
