I guess I don't see the problem. Ever cut wood with a belt driven cord wood saw mounted to a tractor? Some times you gotta run whatcha brung to get by.
Looks like a Prazi beam cutter. I had one for the Skil 77 worm drive. Check it out. http://praziusa.com/beamcutter.html I just didn't use it enough and I sold it to my Post and Beam sub. He uses it probably every day.
Those are handy. My BIL uses one for timber frames on restore jobs. A lot more precise than a chainsaw.
