I'm always happy to move another 262xp. They are for selling in my book.

I sold this one for $300-$325 with 20" and 2 chains. To me this is a pretty high price for this saw but fair.

Nice saw Cut4fun. I didn't really want to sell my 262, so I threw out a crazy high price on CL - $500 - just to see what would happen - and got $475 quick - I had three serious buyers and told them all that I was obviously pricing the saw very high hoping for a buyer who really wanted the saw and I wasn't really all that thrilled to sell it - the offers kept coming back higher till this price - couldn't say no at that point - offer was way too good. Throw a little extra cash over that sale price and I'm real close to a stock 562xp, if that's what I decide to do - still thinking - might just run what I've got for a while. I suppose it wasn't a 'fair price', but it was worth what the buyers were willing to pay. Cheers!

I see folks getting what you sold yours for all the time online. Like you say if buyers going to pay let them pay.

That must be the saw on CL I saw a few weeks back, very nice!!! Sorry to hear about the sale, but if it wasn't getting used why not. I still have mine and run it every so often, such a great saw!! I wouldn't hesitate to steer you towards a 562, I love mine.

Might have been another 262xp mr.finn - mine was only on for a couple days before I sold it last Tuesday - but, if it was NH CL, I probably would have seen the other! Cheers!

Don't feel too bad about letting a saw go. I've been in your boat many times over the years, if I don't use it, it's time to find someone that will use it.

I used to run 262's for firewood saws and loved them. They did everything I wanted and were dead reliable. Then I got an ms361 and realized that it cut just as good, handled well and had better anti-vibration. So I sold all of my 262xps and haven't look back.

Now I run a 562xp more than the ms361 (which I'm currently rebuilding after many years of use by me and a lot of abuse by the prior owner). For a work saw, I really put usability and comfort as key traits.
