So I've been nervous about the hole left in the 3-year stash since taking this winter's wood into the wood shed. Finally got enough replenishment C/S/S to call it a 3-year plan again. This shorter stack may be a 1/3 cord shy, but by 2016/17 it will be complete. Got these done just in time because real winter arrives here tonight and the white ash trunks have been waiting for me so long that a wee bit of punky was showing up. These two rows along with a cord of old oak will get us through the winter after next. We use about 2.5 cords per winter. White ash is nice, but white oak is really nice.
Looking good! Don't stop now just 5 more cords and you'll be in the real comfort zone the 5 year plan
Man that would be a bitch to have that of falling over crash and burn stack but looks like you got it under control over there bro
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Did I miss the memo? When did we go to a five year plan? I just got on 3. I'm gonna need better toys.
Great looking stacks Gark, feels good to replenish your stacks! I use to live in S.W. Michigan a long time ago, a place called Sister Lakes...
Good for you Gark. Now you can rest a bit. For the others, many of us have 5 years ahead but the 3 year plan is the real target to shoot for. In my case, well, age is catching up and sometimes things happen that can keep you out of the woods. I also keep thinking about what would happen to my wife should I suddenly not be able to put up wood? I like the though of being 5 years or more ahead on the wood. We've put up enough last month for a year or more so we are fine but should this be a mild winter, I would not mind cutting that much more before spring.
Nice stacks great picturesque surroundings log loads ? slaughtered and dragged out of the forest by indentured Lilliputian slave gangs ?
Nice job. I know exactly how you felt. I moved 5 cords in to my woodshed and suddenly there are empty stacks everywhere. Must...fill...stacks.
Awesome job enjoy the satisfied feeling! Whenever I move wood and see an empty stack a panicked feeling sets in!
