Looking good splitoak Our temps won't be as extreme as our northern hoarders, but we'll have -14°F realfeels. Ill be loading larger pin oak rounds and splits for our overnight, but even then with the winds, it will be tricky to keep the house temps over 70°F......
Only supposed to be that bad for 1 day. I'm more concerned about the 0 daytime temps with the Big wind chills all week. Fortunately I'm off on Wednesday so I can monitor the stoves all day.
Been off for the last 6 weeks between surgery and vacation. First day back to work tomorrow. 11 shifts til retirement though..........Timing on weather sucks............
I've got a good week's worth in the garage on the new landing I built (man, does that make life easier), I'll probably bring some more in (need an excuse to go play with my wood)..... Calling for 0 farenheit here mid week for the low, highs in the low teens. BRING IT.....
Here in NE Illinois, it's gone from 34*F at 8:00AM this morning to 19*F at noon to 10*F right now. Calling for -0* tonight.
I keep 2 days worth in the house which I keep stocked from one of 2 places. One, on good weather days it comes from an outside rack (covered) or during chitty weather (mud, rain, snow, etc) it comes from a rack on the covered deck, which holds 2 weeks worth. I have 1.5 weeks on the deck, enough on the outside rack to finish up January, and then the rest is in the woodshed to finish the heating season.
Maybe a total of 6 inches over the next 35 hours. Not enough to get excited about but who knows....it may change..lol Might have to drag the snowmobile into the shop and swap the motor into the one chassis Pete got for me.....lol
