My wife and I have a 50-60ft Walnut Tree in our yard that needs cut down. If you're into furniture making, and want free Walnut Wood, you are welcomed to make arrangements to cut down the tree yourself and haul away. If you're looking for Walnut Wood for something else, again feel free.

You must be insured to do the job, or hire a company that is insured. Walnut Wood is pricey, so this is a great opportunity for both of us. Let me know if you're interested. 515-three-60-984-four.

Walnut is not great firewood to me. And that tree would prolly cost $2,000 to have pieced to the ground. I like all the hazards everywhere so it would be sectioned and lowered costing a lot of $$$

I wouldn't do it for less than 2 grand myself.I don't have access to a bucket truck or scissor lift,so I'd have to get the climbing gear out & do it piece meal.Lots of brush to deal with afterwards, though I might be able to get another grand back from milling/selling a bunch of short thick blocks/slabs to woodturners, carvers & sculptors.Plus keeping a few for my own use.

Still not worth it to me.I can watch/wait & get nice random sized White/Red Oak,Walnut,Cherry.Mulberry,Honey Locust & Silver Maple dumped in backyard by my tree service contact 2-3 times a year for free.Mill the best pieces, keep a few & sell the rest. And everything else (roughly 85-90%) is future firewood.

The post was done by someone too cheap to hire a tree service. Plain and simple.

I used to do trees along with painting buildings and have two bucket trucks that I used. I used to laugh at how valuable black walnut was. or for that matter I could have free firewood for taking it down. After doing this work and dealing with the public for 20 years I got to say the general population is becoming dumber and more ignorant every year. A lot of them just naturally think the instruction manual should be used before toilet paper for the same purpose and expect warranty work on their stove when it needs to be cleaned. If it wasn't for places like Firewood Hoarders for me to relax with I think life would be miserable. Merry Christmas everybody!!
