OK, so I bought a 576xp that has a scored piston. I have yet to remove the cylinder because I`d like to find out if there are any leaks first. I have looked for a pressure/vacuum tester combo but can`t quite settle on one. Anyone have a favorite / recommendation for me that won`t break the bank? Anyone have one for sale?
The MityVac MV8500 is the definitive device. Use 1/2 atmosphere test pressure and vacuum 7lbs pressure or 15" vacuum Use the vacuum for the crank seals after 30 seconds, you should still have at least 10" vacuum for a pass fail seal test. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mityvac-MV8...0930747882&pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr
I'm out. My gear is Stihl OEM factory service tools. But you can get creative with the adapters/blanking plates and the pump can be anything really.
I have oem stihl , mytivac and some others , the stihl kit is good but cost about 350 euros , the mytivac is super and cost about 80 , the others are similar like the stihl and cost about 50 euros, i have them the cheap i mean for two years now and no problem
