Bought a new Jonsered 2260 a couple weeks ago.........I have never ran a ported saw but this thing seems wicked compared to my 361 non m-tronic.....Was wanting to know if anyone runs one of these that has been ported and if actually cuts 30% to 40% faster after porting.....I know the pre autotune and pre m-tronic saws that the builders were building, 30 to 40% faster was the norm most people claimed.......

After porting my 660 gained >40%. Not a claim....dyno results to prove it.

I have the 562 which is very similar to the 2260 and it is a good runner. I have run a couple of ported 562 saws and a couple of 2260 ported saws and they were definitely stronger than the stock saws.

Well, first off let me say Welcome to FHC... I cant tell you exactly how much difference percentage wise, but it is an eye opener. I've got the Husky version of that model (562xp), and its a very strong runner. But Sunfish says it best: "I find it very hard to run stock saws anymore." If your wondering, run it for a while get the feel for it, before sending it off. So you can have that eye opening experience... Good Luck on the decision...

Every saw is different on gains. A good rule of thumb is you compare that saw to other saws in its class and the harder it runs factory the less gains you achieve. I've did a few 562xps and I don't get the shocking gains out of them like you do an ms361 however the gains you grab make it way more fun to run. And where I personally seen it gain the most is once ported they run a 24" bar very nicely. I use basically the same port timing on them as a stock saw. I just add compression and of course there's other changes along the way but it makes for a fun saw to run that has more torque. Good for a heavy handed person like me.
