This forecast is hard to beat this time of the year.

Today is sunny and windy. Temperature now is 35. No cutting today but will be out there tomorrow, I hope.

I thought about cutting today, mulched leaves up instead.
More low 70's/50's for the rest of the week down here. Just started a little pine fire as the house was cooler than outside:D

What I like is no rain, snow or ice forecast. Then seeing those 30's really makes me want to get out there for an all day session or three. Now if the body would only cooperate....

Not cutting tomorrow even though its a good day for it (low-mid 30's no rain or snow, calm winds) but am meeting brother at parents acreage (he lives about 7 miles from them out in the sticks) to load up his pickup with 3yr old dead red/white oak from my mega stash. He don't burn much in a season, has 5 acres of his own with a fair amount of dead Mulberry & Black Ash on it.But his 3 yr old little 42cc Poulan has oiler trouble when it gets below 35 degrees....Even though he replaced oiler/bar/chain last year... :headbang: Told him "You should've called me first, wouldve saved you some money & lots of headaches.... "

I've been steering him towards a better (but not necessarily bigger) saw.Anything over 10-12" diameter that's still standing he leaves for me to fell, since he has no experience in that area. Told him to get a 20 or 30 yr old Mac,Poulan,Husky,Stihl etc that's 45-50cc for $100 or so.Will still be running after that piece of crap Poulan is long dead.;) He's a great car/truck mechanic, but knows very little about chainsaws & 2 cycle engines. So comes to his little brother for advice & mechanical hints.

Go easy Dennis....make sure you don't overdo it. I'm glad to hear you're feeling good enough to cut, that's great news. I hope your lovely wife is doing well too.

Nice looking buck, I had my son out on Monday for the season rifle opener, no luck but enjoyed being out there with him every single second. I'm off Friday and all next week so I'll be hitting the woods hard for a buck......not to mention several tree jobs lined up before Christmas....

Poulans are junk but I still use my 50 cc one occasionally, I prefer my Husky 61 though, it has far more torque.

Brother was very pleased. He also gave me a couple freebies - A friend of his who was postmaster for a nearby small town had recently retired, was moving to Texas & was giving away a bunch of stuff he didn't want to take along.

I got a couple projects to add to my long list....mid 70's Power Mac 6 (not near as good as mine, yet a couple years newer, this has broken chain brake, other issues - I'll keep it for future parts donor) & a late 80's Homie Super 2 with case that needs work also.If I can get it going for not too much $$ & effort I'll clean it up & give it back so he can have a back up saw.

Had some business to take care of in town but got in a couple hours of work this afternoon. A great day to be outdoors. Starting tomorrow we should be above freezing so that will feel like spring for sure.
