Been a long time AS member and decided to sign up here yesterday. After some lurking, I think it's time for a post.

I think I may be starting to slip. I'm actually considering a Jred 2253. Can't exactly give you a truthful reason other than CAD is telling me to.

My 50cc saw is a ported 260pro that I've had for about 7 years now. I had it ported by Randy 2 years ago and it really is a great saw. BUT, the Jreds have always caught my eye and I kinda want to run something different. That and I like the idea of having the AT/MT on my most used saw - don't try to talk me into a 261, too bulky for my taste in a 50cc saw. Yes, I ran a couple 261's as well as a 550xp recently. My honest opinion? The 550xp handles so much better.

Help! I'm a Stihl guy, this can't be happening!

    Here I am running a 261, my 260 and a 550.

Terry Landrum has a sale going on for his ported saws currently. I believe the 2253 is included.

I'm wondering why the wood is cut in such short pieces.
I'm guessing it's real tough wood to split or the real need if for wood chips, not firewood :faint:

How does it get stacked for good air circulation ?

    LOL :)

    Yep.. What he said ^^

I bought a Black Friday 2253 off of Terry last year. :D Then traded it for a new (never fueled) 550xp, then traded it for a like new (couple tanks) MS 460, I then traded that for 2 more saws to be ported by Randy...

CAD... That's all I can say. ;) Welcome to FHC.

Dex's 681 video is impressive! However, I think I'm covered there with my hybrid.

I love my 440's! I used to have 3 until my good buddy made me sell him one. Besides, I only have two hands so...

Ok, I was checking out the 550 vs 545 thread and a few people mentioned they'd go with the 545 even when considering performance. What's the difference between the 2253 and 2252? Do they run the same bar mount? Sorry, I'm ignorant when it comes to the Swedish saws.

I'm aware those are the comparable numbers. That still doesn't tell me anything :).
Should I go for the 2252/545 over the other? Eventually, it's possible it gets ported. Depends on how much I like it after I run it for a while. With Terrys sale, I was considering going ported from the get go, but now I don't know if I want to drop that much cash on a 50cc saw I haven't even handled. I ran a 550 for a few minutes, but it's hard to spend over $700 for one.

No worries about Griz, he's just excited he's getting a Mooberized 461!
