Many people delete the base gasket to gain a little compression and exhaust time..
If it was .009 though, it was too tight. Needs to be about .020 +or- a couple...

The squish clearance was only .009".....

I was tempted to take the saw down to the crank to double check everything......but I'm gonna port it then see how it runs.

I point of the whole thread is not really about this saw.......it's about someone selling a untested saw for top dollar.

From what I've hear from several other guys......this is a very common thing from Tim.

And.......he doesn't seem to see it as a real issue.

Used saws should be bought and sold face to face.

Civil people.. We just went through this not to long ago.

    Read here..
    http://firewoodhoardersclub.com/forums/threads/guys-take-a-minute-and-read-this.7802/

He doesn't have type of control over the staff. We have ALL been diligently watching. If KRL wanted his name to be left out there? That's his call. As long as an agreement/resolution has come of it? Then we can move on.

As for the others? If there was any deal that did not seem up to snuff? They should have contacted KRL.

I remember a thread kinda similar to this on AnotherSite a little over a year ago. I sold two saws (to 2 different people). Both ended up making it to Randy at the same time. I bought them from a guy, ran them, and passed them down the road. Well, the guy I bought them from, tried his hand in porting and fudged the saws all up.. I called myself out as the person who sold them, and did what I felt was needed to make it right. I made 3 very good friends out of that situation (Steven, Randy, and Jchin). I also made an enemy. The guy who sold me those 2 saws. In the end, I paid almost double what they were worth

So, with that said, sometimes a bad situation can bring light on another situation and friends can be made. Granted, the circumstances were a little different. I now check every saw over (and over) before I sell it. Waiting on a gentleman to PM me now on a Saw that I sold him (arrived today).

So I generally keep them till they are dead...

The solder in this saw would not have survived a single cut worth of run time.

How can someone sign off on a fresh rebuild and deem the saw ready for use without even making a cut with it?

I've had a saw in my truck for a month that I got for a buddy. I made a few test cuts, but I told him he can't have it til I run a couple tanks thru it. I could use the money, but to me it's not worth the risk.

I usually buy my saws "dead", then bring them back to life and run them til they are "dead" again......lol. That way, my expectations are low from the get-go.

Well guys, I think the point was made here in regards to the entire situation. I'm locking it down, but as requested by several parties, the information will remain. I hope all parties involved can find common ground and work this out, but I will say that if this kind of stuff continues on the site (selling stuff that ain't what it's said to be), use of the site by our members to sell saws will cease.......just letting everyone out there understand what we are saying.......

And we've been VERY lenient in regards to allowing members to use the site for that purpose.
