Here is some food for thought from all my research. Is this useful info? See handy noise chart in Link Below! Also download the PDF below! Does peace and quite count as a good noise as the wife isn't whining "its cold in here"? I think we got us a good beer/booze thread going!
My Quad did that to. I think it's just the extreme amount of air and fuel in the pot at start up. The bottom holes are covered more then, and so more air comes through the holes in the side of the pot.
mine talks to me....I try to ignore it, but its hard to discern the stove talking to me and the voices in my head.......
My St Croix developed a 'thunk' last season unrelated to the auger… took it a part, cleaned everything and it's still there. Must be the ghosts in this house controlling it...
That sound you hear from the AE is common and Quadrafire sent a cure which is a piece of light metal that fits in back of the ash tray. It is held on by two screws. Very easy to install and eliminates that sound.
Birddog in da house and at the Liquor store as we speak. . Yeah my St Croix has a slight buzz from control panel feeding pellets, and needs a good greasing sometimes, I did say my Stove right????
My Fahrenheit has developed a terrible buzzing. I installed the bigger impeller and fired it up for the first time yesterday. I let it run for 20 minutes and killed it. Sounds terrible. I will try and upload a video. New blower last year and only burned about 1.5 ton through it? Hoping it's the impeller.
Maybe I'll make my own. I looked it up on the intetnet and it just looks like a piece of sheetmetal screwed in behind the ash pan.
Truth be known if you asked a dealer they should be able to get you one for free. Not much to it and if you had a picture you could easily copy it and make one.
In my Harman, the only noises I hear is he fans and the sounds of pellets. The stove throws out a huge amount of heat. This stoves radiates heat a lot like my wood stove did. A whole different beast than the Napoleon.
One situation where more is better ! Once I put the Harman into service, I didn't ever think of wanting the Napoleon for a second stove. Now feel spoiled rotten and loving it!
After I got my Harman P61, I got another Harman P61 for backup. My P61 backup is like the Maytag repair man and just sits around. But I fire it up sometimes when I work in the garage/workshop. The only thing better than a Harman is two Harmans
