    That's just way to dry, you better burn that outside and cut some fresh stuff to burn this winter. You're going to burn down the house with that stuff Chief.

    Been bringing in dunno-how-old splits mixed-up in a rack. This wood was behind (north of) another rack of really prime wood, black birch & oak.
    The stuff in the shade is a mix of silver maple, white ash, red oak, etc. Ants were busy in there- no longer.
    Anyhow, first check with MM showed 14-16%. After a few days indoors near the stove, single-digits. Need I say, it burns great! Loving it.

    PS: you are spoiled using oak & hickory for shoulder season :)
    Guessing the whole wood stash is all premium high BTU stuff :yes:

    Well, right now, yes, that is all I have........tough huh? Some years not so lucky when you are a scrounger. But I have quite a few sources right now, so I should be able to keep cutting the primo stuff.
