34/69. Headed to 62 today. Still waiting in my first fire but it's getting closer. My name is Mike, and I'm a hoarder in Ok. Lopi Endeavor and Republic 1250
38/65. Just lit a fire, all chestnut oak. Probably break the splitter out and do some firewood work today.
29 We have had some days where there was a bit of snow but nothing that accumulated. While on my drive the other morning, the side mirrors and front of the vehicle got a generous coating of ice due to weather conditions.
First fire yesterday! Weather was fairly mild but very rainy. I wanted to get the "first fire" smell off the stove while it was mild enough to open widows (53* F overnight). I wiped the stove all down with a damp cloth and also the exposed stove pipe. Unfortunately I can't get into the baffles without a lot more work. Fired up, opened a couple of strategic windows and all was over with in a couple hours. Low temps last night at 41*F so a fire felt good this am! Coffee by the fire and a good book in the early hours and the Wif was warm and happy when she got up. No need to fire up the heat pump. Burning some Doug Fir bark which I seem to have a lot of this year!
Was going to tell you since I've been burning alot of them big chunks and cookies give great burn times without getting to wild.
The wife who always complains of being cold wasnt amused this morning when she woke up and it was 81 inside. I guess 2 white oak splits was a bit more firepower than needed.
41° tonight, some pine and ash. It was perfect firewood work weather after getting home today. I let the routine and mundane get in the way of splitting a couple of cart loads.
Yeah, that moon has been bright. 37 for our low. A few more warm days then they are calling for temp drop and maybe some snowflakes.
-3C/27F at the moment Looks like temps above freezing will go away forever shortly, or 5-6 months, same thing Poplar and pine
37 this morning, and 75 inside. Stove is holding plenty of heat from last night's fire until it gets to a high of 77 today.
