For sorting and loading. The only thing quicker than a skidsteer is an excavator with a hydraulic thumb or hydraulic log grapple . For many things a tractor works better . But for getting with it work a tracked skid really moves a lot of material in a short time . And they will work efficiently in a small space. But , the dollar entry into them is very steep . Mine is paying for itself very well . And the biggest thing for me is , it fits my needs just perfectly. That is the biggest thing .
Forks are soooo handy! I picked up 2 pairs of like new forks and made my own carriage. I have a bobcat 610, and the forks really add to the versatility. I use them to love logs, rip out trees, move scrap and pallets, hay, and anything else. We had tractors and a bobcat when I was a kid and I wanted a tractor so I wouldn’t do as much damage to the yard and driveway, but found the bobcat for a good deal. It is way more maneuverable than a tractor and doesn’t really tear up the yard with the chevron pattern tires. I use it almost every day. I had a tractor here this year with a loader and it was a pain to maneuver. I had forgotten the difference over the years. The forks are a 100% solid investment.
