Finally..and i mean finally...got myself a set of pallet forks! These are TYM branded HD 4,000 lb. forks. Good for a skid steer..should i ever need to use one.
After all these years...and a few tractors...this is my first set that I own. I always borrowed dads when I needed them before. Cant wait to try them out ! I'll get some better pics on the tractor tomorrow .

They should be a good investment if you use them more than just occasionally. I like the step welded on the side! That would be super if you ever do need it on a skid steer. For me the worst part of using a skid steer is crawling in and out of it across the attachments. An open bucket isn’t bad at all, but climbing across the side of the grapple is flat out miserable!

    Enjoy your new tool!

Thanks ! Yeah..not a huge fan of skids anymore. My dad had one...and i thought it was great when I was young. Such a hoss of a machine. Then into my early thirties ..my body stopped bending at my main hinge lol. Said bye to the skid..hello 48hp tractor. Has about the same lift capacity...it doesn't jiggle the heck out of me...i can see sll.around me when I turn my neck....and i can use 3 point attachments! Much cheaper too !
But...one never knows what I'll have to rent someday..so it's nice to have the option .

That's a good set of forks. I like using ours, especially when we can cut logs off the forks

Nice. I'm trying to peddle an older Bobcat brand set of forks that I got some years ago. They're a bit much for the subcompact and were replaced with more appropriate Land Pride version.

We could use another set for the machine at work. Where abouts are you at?

The best thing on a skidsteer is the hydraulic quick attach for getting in and out even with my grapple I have enough slack to unhook and climb out instead of climbing over the attachments it really spoils me

Recently rented a mini ex and it had hydraulic bucket coupler. Pretty nice to be able to tote a toothed and grade bucket around and choose whichever needed in about a minute. For sure better than beating out pins.

On my pallet forks there is a similar step to yours . On the rock grapple bucket there are 2 steps . One on the starboard side and a wide step in the center.
It took me a couple weeks to figure out the most efficient way to get into Little Ox. Now it's a piece of cake .
Pallet forks are Great for so many things . I don't use mine a lot currently. But I have an idea for palletized splits . So they will be getting lots of use in the future I'm sure .

Getting some good use out of them. Here's a couple of heavy boxes of limestone face stones..for the cabin fireplace. And don't worry..i have my concrete block on the 3 point...although....i could have used a little more weight !

If you haven't already, drill/burn/punch a hole in one of them so you can drop in a hitch ball for moving trailers. Way easier than using your truck or the 3PT hitch.

I've thought about doing that with mine . I'm wondering about how hard the steel is and if it would be drillable?

Started googling and found these. Might be a good option..if you don't want to drill ?
Could be a quicker detachable option...if it stays put when in use.

Yes sir, should be able to drill with a good bit. We drilled these 2 holes and use 3/4 bolts to hold logs while bucking. We used a 20v DeWalt drill and 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 bits. 20250712_084913.jpg

Mine drilled easy with a mag drill. Could have done it with a hand held but if you got the right tool use it.
