Hey yall it’s my first time being back on here or even messing with firewood in awhile due to life etc…
But anyway i finally decided to look for some more wood after burning a bunch for bonfires and what not. So I found an ad on FB and went and all the good stuff was picked so I did some noodling and took what I could. At first I thought it was maple but after splitting some I’m not sure anymore if y’all could ID it that’d be awesome! But thanks feels good to be back.

Looks like some sort of fruit wood, apple based on bark and heartwood color..

I what minimal experience I have with apple, it has very little aroma. I split some recently and sniffed it and almost no smell. Ive been known to sniff a split or ten as i'm working it. :loco:

Another vote for something in the malus (apple) genus. Wood grain/color and bark looks right. I’ve cut several different kinds and they all smelled a little different. Some sweet, some just kind of generic wood scented.
