    Hello
Just got a chance to show how to clean the wear plate and make it look good.
You can use one or all of the methods below to clean the wear plate.
Make sure all the holes are not clogged with ash. The holes can be cleaned with the right size drill bit that can just barely fit in the holes and scrape the inside of the holes clean.
Pic 1-3 Dirty baked on hard black ash from normal use. The bottom is not too bad.
Pic 4-7 If you have a blasting cabinet such as a Trinity Trinco or even a Harbor Freight and White Aluminum Oxide you can make it clean enough for re-use
Pic 8-9 Just a wire wheel and drill driver can also do a nice job.
Pic 10 - A grinder and a flap pad like this 4-1/2” grinder from Harbor Freight can really get the tough hard ash off and smooth the plate out. Also you can even take it down to bare metal.
Pic 11 - Then to assure a nice clean surface a can of Acetone and a micro fiber cloth makes it super clean.
Pic 12-15 VHT very high temperature 2,000 Degree auto header paint will give it a fresh new look and resist the flame.
    Pic 16 - 25-PDVC
We do recommend a good summer cleaning when you have time so it will be in good shape for the winter season. [IMG]
Also if you do all this to the rest of the firebox then it would look brand new! [IMG]

    Hello
The newer stoves that will h an igniter have a different hole pattern to help the pellets fire up.

mines date of mfg is 8/03 I remember reading about a mod to make it burn more efficiently I think some drilling was involved
You hooked me up with a control board in 10/2013 shortly after I bought the stove used. It's been a workhorse and currently burning great except for a few issues with the board
