Like lipstick on a pig. On the inside it's still the same. Maybe Houltzhouligan will copy them like they did their saws , then we can all have one.
Stihl zero turns are rebranded Farris with some different features on them, Stihl is now selling their gas push mowers in the USA starting in spring 25. They do make the push mowers and have since early 90’s when they bought Viking mowers, few years ago they put them under the Stihl banner. They make a hydrostatic drive push mower with variable speeds that’s actually real nice. The zero turns are Briggs or Kawasaki powered and the push Briggs and kohler. I honestly wouldn’t doubt Stihl just buys the Ferris line and Briggs engine line from the investment firm that picked them up after bankruptcy. Honestly depending on what line but some of the Briggs are probably pretty competitive to the Kawasaki, kohler pro and Yamaha mower engines. The Yamaha mower engines are partly what was Subaru robin because Yamaha bought the robin line from Subaru when they decided to concentrate on automotive stuff. Honestly Subaru’s small engine line kinda died after Polaris quit using Fuji engines.
Your correct steve, they are a Ferris and the 241 things an opinion buy one for 2000$ for all I care. You spend plenty of time texting me and asking questions.
I needed suspension to be able to tolerate a zero turn. Definitely worth the upcharge no matter the brand in my opinion.
while they are the same and yes the Stihl is more the biggest benefit for people is the larger dealer base that Ferris really didn’t have before. My buddy at work bought a Stihl mower because he wanted a z-turn with better ride and no Ferris dealers close.
Used to be the Briggs inteck and the Briggs big block is where it is You can’t compare the cheap brigs that come on the 100 dollar mowers with the Briggs that where meant to work Just my 2 cents
Yeah even the mid range 18-22 hp v-2 intec seem to hold up well and outlasted many husky mowers that I’ve seen. I’ve always had good luck even with the cheap ones, no they don’t last 50 year but let’s be honest should how many years should be expected out of a 150-200$ mower. Not the 60’s anymore and 200$ isn’t anything anymore.
