Ready for winter! Just about 1.5 to 1.75 cord on the front porch, under cover of the upper deck. Back rack is white oak with a smattering of red oak and black locust. That will be for the coldest part of winter. Front rack is all white ash. This will last me 90% of the burn season, weather depending. Most of this wood has been split and stacked for 5 to 7 years with the last 3 years in the shed. Last night was our first fire.
Your splits look awesome.. 5-8 inches of snow in da hills, Hard frost nightly means put vehicles in garage
That pic couldn't better, nicely done. We're looking at an inch of snow at the higher elevations in Arizona tomorrow night. Let it come, we're ready.
Looking great Ralphie Boy, not far behind you. I'll be moving a couple of face cords on the porch in the coming weeks. With the low's we've been having can certainly start burning but am pinching splits and refuse to put the furnace on this early, lol. Suppose to warm up a tad in the next few days.
Weather man said it has been the coldest Oct in 15 yrs. Wouldn't you know it, went to fire up the stove and smelt hot wire smell. I think one of the blowers is seized up. I have a call into Rocky's stove shop but it will be the second week in Nov before they can get to me. We have alternate heat so we are OK. I just miss the stove heat.
Well, at 72 years old I want to make sure I've got wood ready for the stove when I'm too old and decrepit to haul gear in and haul wood out!
Most stoves would work without the blower. Heat distribution may suffer a little. I didnt get the factory blower on my stove when I bought it, I just have a fan sitting behind it.
Do like the tall stacks (the potential to disassemble not so much). Careful with that repeating something three times trope and you can have all the snow you want, just don't be making it snow around here 'kay ?
