Well, here it is—the historical farmer's almanac. Some swear by it. Others swear at it. Not all right always, not all wrong either.
Here in indiana Central Indiana it's been a long long time since we've had a lot of snow. I think the last year we really had a rough winter was 2014/15. Who knows? In my opinion all weather forecasting is just guessing
Beyond ten days, NOAA, the Farmers Almanac and the Old Farmers Almanac weather prediction accuracy are all 50%, which approaches random accuracy. One is better than the other only relative to the pedestal you sneer down from.
Two winters ago, friends and family were complaining about all the snow we had. Something like 36” or so. Um…. Normal is supposed to be 42-48”…. that’s what I always thought.
It's always cold in your area, even in summer - LOL I was just wondering after looking at the illustration if the "cold, wet and white" is the same as "moderate temps & wet and white" of the upper Northeast. I think of moderate winter temps in NH as what we had last year (lowest temp in my area not much lower than 0*F - and really mostly in the teens and above). But if you talk to someone who transplanted to my area from from MA/further south, or even closer to the coast in NH, it was a cold winter last year. Moderate for some areas means like in the 40's - but that negates the "white" part. Such vague words make the forecast mean anything basically depending on who you talk to. Eh, I guess no worse than everyone else in the forecasting business
You don’t have to be Nostradamus to forecast wet and mild for the SE. Already have the wet covered. FFS I have never seen mosquito swarms this bad in NC. Absolutely miserable rn. I lost a pint just changing the oil on the splitter.
