The chain tensioning screw is no longer attached to the pin that goes in the bar. The pin just slides back and forth with no restiance. My poor eyesight can't tell what kind of head is on the screw or is it riveted. 20240123_194520.jpg

Quick update. When my wife found out I was trying to work on it myself she said "take it to a shop. It's too expensive for you to screw it up."
Guess I'm not the greatest diy'er

I believe you just need a new tensioner. Not a big job to put one in. It’s likely from not tightening the bar nuts enough

    Been there, done that...

I got wimpy on my bar stud nuts after turning one out on my 250 and pulled some out on another saw... (wow, that sounds bad...)
I was making a quick cut in a LARGE Sugar Maple log and left my aggressive soft pine chain on. Of course it grabbed as I was leaning into an undercut and wiped out my 362 tensioner cuz of my wimpy bar stud nut handling... (insert laugh track here) I've since figured out a happy medium on bar nuts and make a mental note of whether the studs are set in plastic or metal as I'm putting the scrench to the bar...

    A learning experience...

Wait, 3/4 ugga duggas are the really big ones, right?

Probably just need 1 ugga. No dugga
