Lots of work ahead, but should make some good firewood. The pile goes all the way to my back bumper. It's a mix of elm, poplar, and who knows what.

There is some snow now, but it should melt off in the sun over the next few days. Did I mention the wood is only a few miles from the house?

I hauled a few loads home already, but I think it would be easier if I cut them into rounds first. And yes, lots of nice sized logs.

My brother brought his 22' trailer over and we loaded up the wood and it is now in my yard. There us still at least half a trailer load spread out at the same property that we need to gather up and bring home. I need to get these logs cut/split/stacked first.

Tell me about it. I still had 20-30 cord to cut and split BEFORE I brought this stuff home. I will probably be hauling 50+ cord out of this place in the next year or so, if I get moving on it. Lots of siberian elm and damaged/dead wood.

I have an 80 ft shop to heat, so I need all the wood I can get.

WOW! And i get five cord of rounds on hand and start having sleepless nights! :picard: :loco:

Mebbe if you downsized to a ten foot shop you'd only have to scrounge 1/8 as much wood?

There are times when I think a 10 ft shop would be nice, but then I get projects that take up half of my shop and I think a 60x100 would be a good start.
