We used about 3 ibc totes already.probably a little over one cord.however a lot of it was punky ash which burns real fast compared to solid wood.I didn’t want to waste it.we usually burn 6-8 cords a year between both stoves
I’m about a cord in so far. Mostly chunklies and half punky stuff. Next load to the house will be some better quality splits. Still about 1/6 of a cord in the little shed on the back patio. Will probably refill next weekend.
Maybe 3/4-cord of soft, past it's prime, wood. Been on the warmer side so far this winter, but payback is coming.
Only burned about a third of a cord so far. It doesn’t take much wood when the daytime temps are in the 50s. We start going through wood when the daytime high is below 30. We don’t have sustained cold here until January. We are burning 5 year dried mix of wood, most of it being lower BTU wood. I wouldn’t mind if it would stay cold, it’d be nice to not have to start from a cold stove every time we have a fire.
I think I've only done a handful, if that, of hot reloads. Burning punky elm and tulip don't help. Lol. Maybe 1/2 of a cord, for me, at this point.
In Wyoming, we've had a lot of 40 degree overcast days, meaning the stove is running 24/7 with lows in the 10-20s. The last week, it's been heavy winds with gusts of 50-75mph.
About a cord or so here in southern Indiana at 39° north. Mostly oak, hickory, beech. Only about six days so far where I seriously made btu's. The rest is just average lazy heating. The real cold is coming soon though.
Just finished our 7th ibc tote.so around 2 1/3 cords or 7 face cords.i think we are going through wood faster than usual because a lot of it was punky ash.im into the totes that have mostly pin oak so hopefully we start using less now
I think I have used close to a cord now. Hard to keep track because my BIL has taken some while Im not here.
I had my first fire in mid October. Been burning fairly steady since the beginning of November. I’ve used a little over a cord. 75% ash but also some cherry, hard maple and red oak.
I'm not really sure anymore. A good cord, maybe more. Temps have been anywhere between -6 and 40 depending on time of day/night. It was -6 two nights ago and now it is 36. We just built a wall to keep my mother in law from roasting, since the stove is in her section of the house. Her chair was about 15 feet away from the big cook stove so she was roasting pretty good. Now she is very happy and we are warmer in our end of the house. It was 80-81 in the kitchen last night when we got back from ice fishing.
