Dropped one tree about 17" DBH loaded my buddies long bed ranger. And filled most of my truck. Then went up the road and got the rest of an oak that was about 19-20" diameter rounds that I dropped last year. Those rounds were getting doaty where they were on the ground. Good heavy load! :)

Love that white oak! Post some splitting and stack pics too! :)

A few of those rounds might be a little on the heavier side?

For sure I'll bet they were a bit heavy but the young bucks can handle it okay.

Here some more pics. Some splitting pics since you asked.

I was working on another project earlier...my Bush hog I got (see the Post in the equipment section) a few weeks back.

Big rounds make many splits but are a pain to move. It being white oak and these were both forked trees I have to use the full stroke stroke on the splitter to cut through the stringyness.

I had my busy video me dropping the tree. All went perfect dropped right into the road where I wanted it. But either my camera app screwed up or its my faulty memory card...cause the video "can not play"!! It shows it there but wont play on the phone or when i try to use the computer to play it!!! Looks like a nice pickup! I do love the smell when splitting/burning White Oak....It's a shame it takes so long to dry, I tried a piece the other night that's been sitting a year and it wasn't terrible, but def not ready.

Even here in the south I need to get 2 summers or 18-24 months minimum to get it borderline ready.
