Been absent from the forum for a while,
Been busy at work, haven't done much of anything for firewood this summer.

But boy that's going to change soon, Haying season almost over for me so time to switch to firewood.

I have probably 2 to 3 truck loads of bur oak to bring home that I cut earlier this year, just have to Hual and stack it.
Have probably a 10 cord stack of slab wood to cut up and Hual home from a field edge that work picked up this year and wants it cleaned up, I was hoping to have it hauled home but the pocket book says it's going to be a truck load at a time. When I start in on that soon it's going to be at least a load a day to get it out quickly.

On top of that I found a FBMP ad Friday night that I am going to look at tomorrow, it's about 15 mins from my house, they have 30 maple trees they want down. Ranging from 3" to a foot and 1/2 dia they said.

Said I can just toss the brush in a pile and can back right up to within 50ft of all of them, no buildings there yet, so il see how that looks tomorrow, maybe a good pile of photos coming from that one.

Plus I got 6 felling wedges from my parents for my birthday in July after I had made a mention that I needed to get some after trying to drop a 30+ dia oak for work and had to have a excavator that was there give it a shove when it didn't want to start tipping. So they found a permanent spot in the truck so I will have them with me.

    Welcome home RedNeck!

With the summer there are others that have done little wood related ; me included.
Now time to get back on track , colder mornings have put me in higher gear to get things rolling again.

    Stay safe!

Well, went and talked to the guy today and walked around... man that is going to be some nice wood, some of them have to be 50+ ft tall, 20+" dia and straight with almost no branches tell the canopy.

He has about 6 smaller ones right next to the gravel pad were a shed is going to be placed on Wednesday. So I said I would come tomorrow to drop them before that gets delivered so we won't have to worry about the shed.

Great news! Nothing like a whole tree to cut to your lengths. Any idea of volume.
