You'll like a little echo. I'm a Husqvarna guy too and I have my share of medical problems as well. I find myself reaching for the lighter saws as much as possible.
Currently my only Echo is a ported 2511P only 6 pounds but above your price limit and not a good 10-12" wood saw. That CS-362 is worth a look as are ammo addicts recommended saws.
Hearing of what saws you already have, I'd say consider a battery powered one. 450 Rancher is a plastic case saw and already pretty light. The powerhead alone is listed as about 11.5lbs. Keep that in mind when shopping. I ran T.Jeff Veal 's top handle Echo at a GTG recently and that thing was crazy light! And very well balanced.
Well, right or wrong I purchased a Husqvarna 130. It's good to put the word out that you're looking for something, once and a while I luck out. It looks almost new, felt good in my hands and the gentleman had it for a very fair price. From the looks of his property I think he had it just to cut up fallen limbs, quite a few trees around the house and I didn't see any signs of a wood burning appliance anywhere. Thanks for all of your help and suggestions guys, I really appreciate it.
Dependng if you want to spend, the Husky 543 is a little beast with a 14,500rpm engine. It's 2 pound heavier than an Echo 3510, but packs almost 10cc more in the cylinder. 16" bar is no sweat for it.
I'll get some photos taken as soon as I recover. Just getting over that Cellulitis infection in my arm and my wife and I split a cord of those rounds that we were discussing the other day, today and yesterday. Pretty tuckered out, but I will get those pictures for you.
Top handle would be my suggestion, my 192T and Mini Mac6 are my favorite clean up saws. The 355T Echo would be my suggestion.
Ive been using Stihl's since 1985 and they have treated me very well. Always reliable and start every time. Stihl Ms261 is a 50cc pro model. If too pricey for your budget a Stihl ms271 or 291 may fit the bill. What will you be using it for specifically?
I was able to get a Husqvarna 130, feels good in my hands and I think it will serve me well for the smaller work. Won't be as bad on my back and shoulders as my Husqvarna 61. Thanks for all of your help guys. I'll post some photos tomorrow.
As promised, here are a few pictures of the saw I lucked out and was able to purchase. I believe the older gentleman was afraid to use it, he was pretty shaky. I really don't think he used it at all, I don't see any signs of wear. Also, a few photos of the rounds we were able to get split.
Agreed!! That one looks barely used. Hope it serves you well. Nice to keep the fleet all orange. Stacks look great too.
I was going to suggest a ported husqvarna 346/350/353....something in that range. Pretty light and plenty of zip to make really quick work of anything under 12".
