Google pics sent me, "remember this day" and it was of my woodshed last year. I had it filled beginning of August. I needed to get on the ball!! Last 2 weekends worked on getting the shed filled. I was cutting on a pile of my 4' splits that I got in 2021. Mix of oak, cherry and a smidge of hickory. I plan on burning this in Jan. and Feb. What was left from last year. Finished today. A little over flowing. Front row is 5'. Still have a little room at the top. (Don't mind the junk, someone was suppose to go to the scrap yard)
Stack is looking good A little over a month away for me. Still gotta sweep the chimney and fill the basement. A customer texted to see if I was still selling wood. Let’s go!
Sweet stack! This heat has to break a little before I get serious about firewood. Next step for me is filling the basement.
I likey. Got a medium size load of mulberry this morning, 77f. Unloaded and cut this afternoon, 94f. Could sure feel the difference.
You couldve sent us pics and we wouldve reminded you too! A full shed is always a good feeling. Way to get it done sir! Made a couple scrap runs the last two weeks. Over $150 for light iron and aluminum.
My apologies as you hadnt had a chance to post in your thread yet. Sweet load of wood though. Seems like you get a lot of mulberry. What percentage of your inventory is such?
Don't get all that much. Currently with this score, I may have 2/3 of a cord. Last winter I was well stocked with it and wasted quite a bit when lower woods, even pine, would have been plenty. Seems like silver maple, elm and ash are the most plentiful with SM being number one by far. Not complaining as I am very blessed with great wood and plenty of it, as long as I want to put a little work in for it including plenty of white oak out at Bunny's just waiting for my saws.
I was working in the shade so it wasn't too bad. These 4' splits I cut on were only 20' or so from the shed. It was pretty easy. Looks like some wonderful 90+ degree weather headed our way this week. So you're basement is going to stay empty for a little bit.
