I've been swamped at work for the past two months. On top of that I tore my hamstring three months ago, so my firewood harvesting ceased. Until today..... Driving out of my neighborhood, just around the corner from my house there was a crew cutting up a large sugar maple limb that had broken off the main tree. I stopped and inquired if I might have the wood. They were all too happy to let me take it all, so I did! And, as it turns out they are taking down some pin oaks in the neighborhood in a few weeks and they said I could have that wood as well. Best yet, my hamstring feels great after today's workout.
Great timing. Nice grab there Buck. Sorry to hear of your health issues but nice to see you back on the scrounge again.
Great score with more to come it sounds. Glad to hear it felt good to be at it again. Sent from my SM-S536DL using Tapatalk
It looked like it was 1/3 of the whole tree. I am guessing sometime the owner may have the whole tree taken down. As it turns out the homeowner burns about 3/4 of a face cord of wood every year in there fire place. I told them I'd hook them up this fall. And to keep me in mind if they have that tree taken down. Not a bad deal, less than 1/4 mile from my house.
Thanks man - good to be back in action. I've got a bunch to get after in the next two month on other sites. I'm still a bit tentative with my hammy and took it slow today but so far so good.
Great job and congrats on feeling better. I have a mountain of large noodled quarters to split and stack but it's a 100° and high humidity here. It's just gonna have to wait!
Always good to get a chance to get back in the game. Slow and steady will keep you there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
