White oak died at our old house last summer. The new owner was going to pay to have it taken down. I told him it was a easy fell and if he wanted I would be glad to do. Today was the day. Drama free, now I just need to buck it up for some future BTU's PXL_20230307_182515361.jpg

Nice! Great that he let you fell it and have the wood. Looks like a primo straight grained tree. Some nice splits to come from it.

I’d try to turn that into a mill log

41 foot of useable trunk. I cut it into 82" lengths and hauled it home with the tractor. Weather isn't looking to good until Friday so I'll wait till then to buck it a up.

Thank you. Yes liked the area well. Got a really great deal on the house and then did really well selling the old one with the market as it was last year.

No one asked - did you deal with/remove the brush-twigs-top stuff (some extra work) or get to just let the refuse sit there (everything's coming up roses)? Nice score and so nearby... good job!

Worked on bucking it up this afternoon. It will be a few weeks before I can split it though. Going to be visiting family in sunny Florida next week or two.
