    I'm porting a J'Red 2166......and I see this yet again.

I've done quite a few 365/372XTs, and several of these J'Reds. I've lost track of how many times I've seen this same thing....

Not really "in the know" on that model of saw, but is that divider in the intake being crushed when the carb bolts on?

Very interesting.......Are those being damage because of quality control or poor assembly?

Finally got that money out of your pocket! :)

I heard it was burning a hole in it

Nice saw! Should be a runner when it gets home!! :dex:

On a serious note, for Randy to have seen that many, it surely has to be a quality control problem. Someone should have seen that if they were truly taking them down after assembly and checking parts, clearance, etc. :(

Definately would be a lean issue not to mention dirt and junk going directly into the cylinder......

That kind of stuff coming from the factory is ridiculous. Good catch, Randy.....

Any chance you've made someone aware in their engineering department?

It's tough to get these carbs on without folding that edge in. We've done it as well.

Here's what it looks like after sitting around a little while.

    No damage.......
