Welcome Tony! If you haven't yet go to the resources section (lots of good info there especially Backwoods primer on wood burning). Remember that there are NO dumb questions here.

Welcome aboard Tony! Great group of guys and gals here. Have learned a lot, and will be my first year burning too. Well, used to do some when I was young, but I don't count using the old Vermont Castings with green wood often covered in snow and ice as experience...

Yeah IS, a little cold front moved through starting this morning. When I woke up it was 37 outside. Warmed up through the day to the high 40s. Chance of snow above 5500'...then tomorrow and through the weekend it looks like it'll be heading back into sunny skies and highs approaching 80!

Yes there are. Got a nice 40 acre piece I'm allowed to hunt on. Been doing good on it. Have seen some monsters out there. I've seen the biggest deer of my life on the neighboring property.

Welcome to the pages of the terminally ill. besides CAD there is FAD ( firewood acquisition disease)
    FPAD( firewood processing accessory disease)
    PHD (Pellet hoarding disease)
CWBHD ( compressed wood block Hoarding disease- very rare)
Consumption of various spirits gives some relief of symptoms- no known cure. There have been a few , who for reasons beyond comprehension have quit cold turkey, only to be infected by the deadly UWDD ( Utility wallet drain disease) fortunately this is reversible by returning to the Firewood brotherhood ( Gals Included also). Best wishes for a safe and warm winter.
