    We've got lots of twisted post oaks here, but not usually that bad!
    I use the twisted logs for my cookie cutting habits, that way I don't have to mess around splitting that junk.

    Yeah I believe it did go through a tornado, probably lots of them. The area it's in is Nader alley. It's on a new job site we started today. I told them to be sure and put that one in a brush pile and burn it.

    I cut a red maple last summer like that. We all agreed that splitting it would suck.
    Once cut down, splitting by hand was pretty straight and straight forward. The grain was not as crazy as the bark made it look.
    I remember thinking that felling could be ugly too, but it was not.

    "Not I" said this firewood hoarder. Thats some serious twist. Ive seen red oak with a slight twist and split red maple with twist, but nothing like that
