Over here in WNY just outside of Buffalo...I'm ready for whatever takes place. Having lived through the Blizzard of '77 time will tell if this one matches up...Seems like this one will be short and strong...Plenty of wood for the stoves to keep things warm and cook on or in, just in case the power goes out....

Stay safe! I got some gas for the generator yesterday and ran it at lunch just in case. It’s going to be all rain down here in CT with lots of wind. I heard something snap and fall at 5:30AM. And my saw is up in Vermont…d’oh.

One saving grace to this storm is that an out of town electric company won the bid in our area to rep;ace alot of poles..They went wild and trimmed trees like crazy from June til August before they started.. Hopefully that makes the difference in all of this with no power outages for us...

I started and ran the genny and snow blower last evening. Already hitting us here, wind is howling and snow is blowing.

And I remember the 77 storm. I was a junior in high school, worked part time on a dairy farm, when we weren't milking or feeding I was out with the tractor pulling people out of the ditch.

Ever since the Ice Storm of 98 the power company has done much better keeping trees cut back from the lines. We were without power for 4 days that time.

No snow for me but I have already heard a tree or big limb pop in the distance. Hellacious gusts periodically. About to go from 37 to single digits in the South. Good luck y’all!

No genny here. That's on my list this summer. I think I said that last summer. :emb:
No power for us means no water, toliet, bath. But we'll manage if it goes out.

same here. A few minor preps and we're in good shape. A genset would be a good thing.

You lose power? Still on here. Her daughter lost it in East Haddam and wont be on for 3-6 days! Wallingford is great with its own electric. Know some of the lineman on the crews. One a wood customer of mine. If you need a saw i have a few! :D :saw:

Likewise am prepared. 3" of snow yesterday but gone this morning. Snow plow and blower working and checked generator yesterday. After 30 pulls and some choice words, pulled the plug and cleaned it and dumped some gas in the cylinder. Fired right up.

And.....just like a switch flipped this morning at 9 AM, howling wind and horizontal snow showers. Plenty of wood on the porch...I'm ready!

    Snow amounted to absolutely nothing.
Wife texted me at work and said power is out. Might be a long weekend.

    Now no power at work.

Just rain and wind here today. Temp was dropping and i saw 41* on a bank thermometer late this afternoon while out and about. It was in the low to mid 50's this morning.

Power came back on midafternoon. Now its off again.
Went to get a pizza this evening and came upon road closure. A massive tree was across the road. Current temp is 6*, wind died down but is occasionally gusting.
Watching woodstove tv. The black locust show is on.

6F snowing and blowing here, lake effect now. Not any really impressive snowfall so far, maybe 4". Roads are passable and the whole family came and went safely for our Christmas party. Somewhat underwhelming so far TBH. Power hasn't blinked even, no trees down so far.
