I have a friend with an Englander stove that cleaned his stove and now it won't restart. The "Heat Range" and "Blower Speed" buttons and numbers work just fine but pressing the "On" button does nothing. He tried to make an account to post this but couldn't get past the Captcha.

Does this sound familiar? Needs a circuit board replacement or is there a safety switch that could be preventing it from starting?

Never considered an Englander to be a quality unit (I had one and offed it). I believe the membrane control is shot and a new control board is required unless you are an electronics whiz, which I'm not. Try Dinosaur electronics.

I'll start off by saying I know nothieng about Englander stoves, but it is aweful suspicious that it won't start after cleaning. Meaning, perhaps there is something your friend did not put back together correctly that is telling the stove to ignore the on button. It could be something as simple as the hopper lid is not latched. Or, it could be the control board - just alwasy worth checking the free stuff before throwing money at it.

He took the control board out yesterday and I looked at. I didn't see anything obviously wrong, but when he put it back in the On button was working. But then the blower fan control wasn't working and still isn't. The On button was still flaky and he found that wiggling the temperature probe connector would affect it. I think he needs a control board.

Loose connections cause a lot of trouble and the stove was just cleaned (read connections were hit) need I say more?
