That Ash is pure gold, on the side of the road! Whenever I pick up a small load of wood, I always think - "how many hours will this keep the furnace from running?" It's ALWAYS worth it. Nice grab!
All of my loads are small, and I think this EVERY time. And some roadside ash, where I live?!? I’d put it in reverse on the interstate to get that!
Was that ash pretty light weight? There is still btu's in it though. Interesting combination of leafs I see there.
Ash is very dry. Wind victim took out root ball and all. You are right there are still btu’s left in the wood. The different leafs is all that left of a farm fence row.
Good stuff there. Roadside wood is a way of life for me. State, town etc taking trees down and leaving it for the taking. As long as its safe enough ill grab it. I have a couple cones that get put to good use when needed. Hoard on and cut safe!
