He'll want a rear hitch first... a pita because it has to be about at axle height (so the machine doesn't want to "wheeley" while pulling a load) and the hitch itself can't touch the gearbox... which, of course, is right in the way... . But, it can be done...
I really wanted to buy this thing when you had it , I was close ; really-really close. Did I need it ? Probably not but here I am again looking at this thread and there was one on Craigslist around here not too long ago.
I see they have a few different models. Are these two the 660 lb capacity ones? The biggest one seems to be an 1100 lb capacity monster
700 lbs would be about it's max. Can't emphasize enough... 700 lbs is a lot of weight, considering the machine weighs about 400 lbs. It seems rugged enough to handle it though... I'd be more concerned about tipping over sideways or forward (gotta back down a hill with a load)
Yes sir. That is a lot of weight. No way anyone is pushing that kind of weight in a wheelbarrow uphill in the mud.
That’s exactly why I got this thing. I was pushing a quarter of that weight, uphill in a wheelbarrow and kept hitting rocks killing my momentum. Heckuva workout though at 9,000ft
That reminds me Jutt ... does your machine cycle up and down too? I had to run the choke about 1/4 all the time, to smooth it out. Mine also started first pull, every time... the ole B&S did all right.
It runs smoothest for me at wide open choke and full throttle. Starts up super easy everytime. Seems to just sip fuel. Gear box reminds me of an old tractor which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It is running a bit rich and I keep meaning to get a high altitude jet at some point.
Couple of updates. I wanted to haul more wood and was using the sides of the crate it was shipped in. But 1/4 plywood is flimsy. So I built a pretty stout 2x4 box. This upped the capacity and worked pretty well during my shakedown. Problem is, and Stinny you probably ran into this, is a big heavy load gets very nose heavy. In looking at some of these larger tracked dumpers, I noticed many of them have a platform to stand/ride on. So I literally threw something together as a proof of concept. Good news is that when I’m riding on the platform it better balances the weight with a full load. Bad news is that you’d have to be like 5 feet tall to ride on it while operating the controls.
