Drove by this the other day while they were taking it down. No time to check it out. Forgot and happened to drive by there today. Stopped to check it out. No saw or time to cut any. Knew what it was the first time but the bark is what threw me. I know the species and will post pics of the bark for starters. Leaf pics to be posted Monday night. Always fun to play guess that tree! Oh and its not poison ivy tree either.
Well, it is on Elm st. I'm guessing maple. Possibly silver. Only because that's what the ID called out.
I’ve been an ISA certified arborist for over 20yrs with tree risk assessment qualification. I have never heard, or read of weak saddle’s. Does anyone know what that means? If it’s not Horsechestnut than I’d guess cherry.
If it’s a Horsechestnut narrow branch attachments are typical and they don’t fail like Bradford. I want to speak to the warden.
Good luck! I have called him more than once to procure scores and he can be a PITA! Red tape BS. Finally the owner of the tree company that has the towns contract gave me the okay to take wood.
I was trying to procure a good sugar maple score few years back. Had to call the "tree warden". He said its property of the tree service. Called the tree service guy and he says to take it and i "didnt hear it from him" Lots of times i approach homeowners when there is fresh cut wood there and they say the tree guys are taking it and sometimes it takes my powers of persuasion to get the score.
