I drove 35 mins on my 1969 British Leyland tractor to visit a farmer that had two dead trees set aside for me. They were still standing, but in the wide open of a field. The wind was steady to the east, so they dropped easily and predictably. Done in less than an hour, thankfully he had a skid steer on hand. It was a hard or sugar maple, a decent sized ash and I found a stick of walnut lying there.

I managed to score that dump trailer at a local auction for $500, everybody seemed to ignore it, it’s been amazing for me so far. Seems to be made from an old manure spreader.

    Cheers!

The old honey wagons usually are made over into something useful.

Nice wood get! :woodsign: Does the trailer still have the track system used to keep the crap moving to the back? Just thinking that could be useful to unload splits/rounds.

The track system is no longer on it, but many people do use that function, I see them come up on classified ads etc

That was worth it! I haven’t had Ash for a few years. I miss it.

Yes the equipment is a huge plus! I could use a tractor like that!
