    Hello
Those messy sharp filings that can stick in the vacuum filter! Is there a better way?
    Yes there is!
Get a 5/8” diameter magnet and a 12” length of threaded rod. Grind the end of the rod flat and stick on the magnet with silicone and gorilla tape.
Put a piece of paper towel over the end and gather up the filings. Then pull out the rod and watch the filings drop into the container or trash! See pics

Magnet in a baggie. I also use this method when I’m reloading , I use stainless “pins” to clean my brass, when done, I put my magnet in a baggie swirl it around until I get all the pins collected, then take the magnet out of the baggie, dump pins in a clean baggie, repeat till I get all the pins out of the cases. Works like a charm

Magnets work great for cleanup until you're working with 300 series stainless steel (or aluminum):hair:

I usually just use my bench brush into a trash can. Whatever it doesn't get doesn't need gettin'.

I use a magnet to pick up sewing pins if my container gets dumped. It works for most of the pins. I think my magnet could be stronger though.

campinspecter bought me a new magnet that has more power. He is the one that usually finds them with his bare feet. Years ago, we were swimming in a river far from any settled area and he picked up a darning needle in his foot. Must have been from a fly fisherman making lures.
