Purchased new in '14, was repaired and returned by Woodstock two years ago. Stove is in very good shape, comes with two complete doors (so you can clean the glass on one door and then swap them) and two ashpans. Soapstone lined. Dark gray with black accents. And the outside air kit. Also has grate over ash pan. Located in RI, 02816.

Not sure what it is worth but I would think $1,600 plus shipping actual shipping cost, not marked up)?

Well this kinda' snuck up on my but I am moving, and there are no provisions or practical placement (chimney, inside space, etc.) for a wood stove. Going a bit south where heat pumps seem to rule the day, the house I grabbed has a piggy- back propane heating system on it.

Also, the new house is considerably larger then the current one and while an I.S. is certainly applicable, if a wood stove was installed it might make sense to go for one of the larger on the market. At the end of the day, this whole maneuver will be over in less than six weeks so it is time to move some stuff. If the stove does not go to a new owner(s), I will ship it to my new residence and put it in storage until it is either put back in use or sold.

And now for the truly evil thought- I think it might be that pellet stoves are the best choice for heating on two floors, basement and first floor.

So this is the reason for the <possible> stove sale. Also have a near 'n dear welder I have to do something with- great machine but simply too large for the new place.

Yeah well the plan was NH but things have changed so now it is the Shenandoah Valley in VA. Close to one of my kids and both grandkids and a lot closer to the other son also (he is in NC). In fact I am here right now taking care of the initial wave of house buying / moving / preparing things. Should be home by Thurs., Fri. at the latest, then the first load of that which I will not ship will go in my SUV to my son's house.

For those of you who have not had the pleasure, the current real estate buying / selling cycle is simply beyond belief. Houses hit an open listing with the owners often setting a time and date that they will stop accepting bids, usually between 3 and 5 days (yeah, read that again). The bids are all OVER asking price, often by what I think is a lot- I reached about 8% over list price for the house here and my wife has not seen it at all beyond photos and a one- time Iphone walkthrough when I was looking at the house. I found the house on Tues., set up a in- person look on Wed., and had my sealed bid in by 4:30 Thurs. Found out by 6:30 the house was mine. Normally I would not touch such a market but the fact is that we are getting old and so the window of making this move is closing, plus the grandkids are now nearly 4 and 1 1/2 so waiting a few or several years for things to calm down is not really a good option.

Anyway I have no intention of leaving this forum so you folks are not done with me quite yet :)

I spoke with Woodstock Soapstone today and they said the going price for used stoves of theirs in good condition are going for around 1/2 the new price. So my wild guess on the value of the stove seems pretty spot- on, especially since it has only been used one season since a rebuild at Woodstock and the extras and options that go with it. So I think we will stand at that price, plus shipping although I will meet the buyer half- way and pay for the tailgate lift to pick up the stove and take it to a hub. The new owner then would be responsible for the actual destination shipping, which is not all that bad in my experience but easy enough to get a price before actually purchasing anything.

Of course I can and will take photos once I am back in the state the stove is in.

And a side note of amusement: I share a driveway with my neighbor, that is the way it has been since the land and my house were broken off of the larger lot. Of course the buyer wants an easement or 'right of way', which I do not blame them for in the least- I should have insisted on that myself but was young and foolish (not like now where I am old and foolish). Anyway, the lawyer is no problem but the three surveyors I contacted are booking jobs in September or later. Yikes! Amusing as all- outdoors for on- lookers but if one actually needs a survey, well...... Then again, how long is surveyor school anyway? :rofl: :rofl:

A very very long road to licensure for most. Hence the reason very few acquire the high level of education, field exp., time working under a licensed individual, multiple levels of required testing etc required prior to being professionally licensed. This profession requires actual physical work. A real stumbling block in today's society:cool:
And that's all I got to say about that:)

Yep but really I was just making an amusing comment about waiting for months for a surveyor being so bad one might consider becoming a surveyor instead. If you took my comment as some type of knock or diminishing toward surveyors then we have miss- communicated because that was not even a small part of my intent- my only intent was humor. Surveyors absolutely are a valuable and needed part of modern society. My only actual complaint, and this also is meaningless really, is the current state of everything / anything to do with real estate: prices are three clicks above astronomical for not only the property itself but all things involved in moving said property, including surveying but certainly not limited to that in the least.

All that said, I still have a woodstove for sale and would even be open to selling it to a........ wait for it, surveyor. :rofl:

Wait, so how did this story end?? Did you move, and WHERE is your IS.
I will never part from my IS, even if I move to Florida, I'll make a shrine out of it!
