    Going with silver maple but not much different from red. Quick seasoning, good shoulder wood and easy splitting with nice straight poles like those.

    Red maple. Most common tree here in Connecticut. Faster drying once split. Splits easily mst of the time. I get an occasional twisty one that can be a PITA
