Looking at getting a multi-tool. What do you have, have experience with, good the bad the ugly. Not sure if I should spend coin or go a little cheaper. Are there good budget ones say around 50$, kinda really leery of the 18$ no name specials, or get 150$ one. What can you tell me!

Assuming you are taking about Leatherman type tools.....
My boys n me like the Leatherman wave ($110 not on sale) pretty well.....I like the type with the knife on the outside, so I don't hafta open the whole thing up..... get out the knife.....close it back up.... just to whack something off! then do it all in reverse to put it back away.
I just got us all new ones yesterday!

That is exactly what I'm looking for, multi tooled pliers for EDC. Also a good long lasting leather belt pouch for it would be nice, a couple guys I've asked at work said the nylon belt pouches wear through in a couple months. Although, it would be cool to invent a FHC patented multi-scrench that the whole world wanted and our site would be well funded for a very long time.

My son carried a Leatherman wave for 5 years, never had any problems or anything broken on it, used it lots every day, but the pouch died when he was moving dirt with the tractor..... and now it's buried somewhere! ☹️

I've used the Leatherman Wave for many years and very happy with it.

I also hear they are very good at replacing if something goes bad. A neighbor has had 2 replaced when he broke the wire cutters.

Leatherman wave for me too. I wear it everyday to the office / gun shop. On the farm I just carry a pocket clip knife and regular pliers.
