I hear ya. Costs me about $100 to get a cord of wood so I figure it’s a wash.

I have to be honest, I'd rather have year long shoulder season than the 90 degree+ dog days of summer. And it ain't gettin' any better! I love this time of year, when it's cold/chilly at night and 60-70 during the day. Wish it lasted year round.

When will it all be gone? And when will it start flying again?

It is going fast now. It will be gone this month. Perhaps just a few patches of it in some secluded spots. It starts accumulating in November. December and January are the months with the highest amount falling.

It will be gone by the first week in June usually. We'll see it year around as we hike to the moutain lakes to fish and there is always deep drifts left. The white stuff is what we fill our creel with. I'll hopefully be done burning by mid June and won't start up again till first week September.

I had the same thought yesterday. Looking forward to wrapping it up for the year and sweeping out chimney for the year.

Still warm/cold here. Freezing at night and 50-60 during the day. Supposed to be in the teens for a week now. Burning a lot more wood than we expected this year. Good thing we have a good supply.

If it wasn't for all of those county zoning ordinances, you could just wear less in the hot weather! :handshake:

I'm with you on this. Today was perfect! 30 this morning and upper 60's and sun most of the day. I may be the outlier here, but I much prefer 20 and sun to 40 and rain, which is what they predict for Easter and next week. That weather is good for nothing. I got plenty of wood and it takes about 5 minutes to load the boiler. I just keep her running till I don't need it.
