Picked up a Stihl 192 a month ago or so. Had 3 tanks through it now and have decided it likes to die when lifted up from being held tip down to move brush. Starts cold well and usually starts after it dies with 4 pulls or less. I'm guessing the fuel filter and hose are installed incorrectly? Definitely odd. Otherwise I am enjoying it. Any ideas? Thank you.
Symptom sounds like what can happen when there’s a separation at the intake to the cylinder. AV mounts are worn or over stressed when the bar gets pinched and the saw is yanked out of the pinch.
Replace those and check the intake boot. Mine did the same. Good saws for what they are, but don't run it that way. Lean seize is a possibility.
I bought a used rear handle and a friend is bringing it back to life. (have a couple top handles already) Cant help you out with whats wrong though. Good at using them, not so much fixing em.
Might sound odd. But I wish they had a compression release on them . That way my wife could start and run it reliably , without trauma. I like my 193T it's a bit odd in some ways. But runs better the more I run it.
Quick update, I ran another tank through it, against recommendations and it seems to help if while moving a branch i blip the throttle once or twice while the saw idles. Also, if I put the choke on after it dies it starts on the first pull. The choke on the handle that is.
